Paralympic silver-medallist Deepa Malik was in for a pleasant surprise last night when she discovered that India’s neighbouring country Bhutan had issued a postage stamp to honour her incredible feat at the Rio Paralympics last year. Malik, who won silver in the women’s shot put F53 event, put the stamps on Twitter last night.
“Applauded by a fan from Bhutan! #postalstamps printed in Bhutan featuring #India’s #firstwoman #paralympic #medalist #India & #Bhutan share very friendly relations Looking fwrd 2 visiting Bhutan sometime in future LongLive #IndoBhutan #Friendship,” she wrote.
