After some stories came out about a small Polish village, which was covered in painted flowers, an old woman from Czech Republic decided to spread the same type of beauty and joy in her hometown.
The Polish village, Zalipie (just ninety minutes from Krakow,) is covered in incredibly painted flowers. This kind of art first started many years ago to cover soot marks from ovens because there was not enough ventilation. Ultimately, more and more residents started painting their houses. The Polish village has actually held a Malowana Chata or Painted Cottage Competition since 1948. In addition, the aim of this contest was part of a movement to assist the country in psychological recovery from the atrocities that it suffered in the Second World War.
Interestingly, a 90-year-old resident of Louka, Czech Republic, is trying to make her hometown as amazing as the small Polish village. That’s why she spends every summer and spring adorning door and window frames with awesome designs.
Namely, an ex-agricultural worker, Anežka (Agnes) Kašpárková, uses a little brush and vibrant blue paint in order to create beautiful floral patterns inspired by traditional southern Czech (Moravian) artwork. Moreover, she has attained both viral and local acclaim over the past few years. But, the old woman has stated that it is only for pleasure. Painting was, without a doubt, a hobby that soon became a passion, which actually shows in the detail as well as dedication of her impressive work.
With a joy for life as well as the beauty that it holds, Kašpárková is more evidence that age is just a number. Her work is definitely similar to the painted homes of Zalipie, with their wonderful flower garlands, and reminds you that you are never too old to express your creativity. So, don’t stop doing what you truly love, regardless of your age.
